Big Island Earthquake - Update
(October 19, 2006)

As a result of the recent earthquake in Hawaii, the Kawaihae harbor activity was limited due to concerns about damage. As of late Wednesday, October 18th, the State Harbor Division and the U.S. Coast Guard have re-opened one of the three piers at Kawaihae and discharging of cargo has began.
