Air Cargo Update
(November 4, 2010)
UniGroup Worldwide's Freight Forwarding Department is receiving communications daily from the events that have occurred since last Friday. In the U.S., policies have remained the same. However, they are informing us to "expect an unpredictable mix of security layers at all airports and cargo terminals that include in depth documentation reviews, enhanced explosives trace detection, advanced imaging technology, canine teams, among others."
In the EU, the European Union explosive experts will meet in Brussels tomorrow, November 5, to examine new measures to tighten air cargo security. Information released advise no new security rules will be proposed at this time.
Because of the enhanced security measures possible, please be sure that all information provided to your Move Manager for your shipments (both import/export) are complete and accurate. The documentation reviewed by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) will be thorough and must be accurate and completed per the regulations.
If you have any questions or concerns about a shipment you have or one in progress, please be sure to contact your move manager here at World Headquarters.
