Shanghai and Beijing Olympics Customs Update

Shanghai Update
We were informed by Chinese Customs authorities last week, effective June 1, 2008, there will be a 100% physical inspection for all inbound shipments for Shanghai. We are monitoring the situation. In the event timing is greatly effected, you will then be advised. Please note that this may cause an increase in the customs inspection fee, as well as, port storage or demurrage charges incurred.

Beijing Regulations
The attached document offers repeat information on the new changes made by the China Central Customs leading up to the Beijing Olympics.
These changes will have an operational, as well as, cost impact to the import and export of shipments into Beijing.
